As we all collaborate, we create a better future for thousands of students who need just a little opportunity to get to the next level.

Young Black Scholars partners with donors, co-sponsoring organizations, academic institutions, and community liaisons to ensure the continued success of the organization. Monetary and in-kind donations, scholarships, and volunteerism make this program feasible and also help keep fees minimal for students.

The Community Partners of the Young Black Scholars program are colleges, universities, leading educational agencies, community and civic organizations, and individuals who formally support our efforts.

To learn how you can support YBS, please contact us.

The Co-Sponsor Council is a unique subset of YBS’ Community Partners and includes leading educational agencies, community and civic organizations, and individuals who formally support our efforts. The Council provides support to the YBS program by means of donations, scholarships, in-kind services, and extensive volunteer work.

Young Black Scholars works closely with the Collegiate Resource Network (a YBS support group comprised of professionals in academia and other areas) to ensure students have access to information on post-secondary opportunities and admission requirements. In addition, scholars and their parents can use this resource for assistance in the admission and financial aid processes, as well as post-admission mentoring.

Young Black Scholars supports and encourages the development of YBS Clubs on high school campuses. Coordinated by high school staff members who act as YBS Faculty Liaisons, the high school clubs provide on-going student development, networking, and academic support. Young Black Scholars currently works with over 170 high schools and 1,000 students in the greater Los Angeles area.
